What I love is seeing a clueless individual try to consider a government imposed fee as "free market."

he is sarcastically saying that the GOP leaning Jefferson parish is conservative in name only.

I think it is a bit disingenuous to compare this to this policy to Austin's. At least Austin's policy is framed as a safety issue and still allows for other p2p models to operate. Kenner's policy is pure protection

I think the thing that irks me about cabs the most is that they hang out in the left lane, and will stay there until a few hundred feet before the airport exit and then force their way over.

No, he was being sarcastic. He was saying the fee was the antithesis of "pro free market"

Revenue from New Orleans' $4 fee pays for airport operations, and does not go into the city's general fund.

Could they be any more vague?

fricking this. Those assholes think the left lane is a HOV lane. I usually cut them off and brake check them and watch how possed off they get. Then I'll call their dispatch and tear them a new a-hole

Maybe the cans should have to meet Uber rules if they are trying to level the playing field. Cars can't be older than a few years, driver ratings above a certain star rating or lose their job, fare estimates available before setting foot in the cab....

If your vehicle is 10 yrs. old, it can qualify for Uber depending on the platform.

This is all they need to do. You can text between yourself and the Iberian driver...just text to coordinate a pick up outside of baggage claim when the passenger is ready to walk out.
Basically, looks like a family member is picking you up.

I've never ridden in one more that 3-4 years old. And they are all clean, and the drivers speak English, it doesn't smell like an armpit, they are courteous, on time, cheap as hell, fast, and you get to rate them.

As for the pickup fees, Sigur said, Kenner is preparing for more wear and tear on city streets as the new billion-dollar airport terminal is constructed and opens in 2019 and those fees will pay for repairs.

This is hilarious.

can't figure out who in Kenner is pushing this. Dominick is part of the machine, yet the biggest opponent.

It's obviously Sigur.

The "mob" mentality of doing business has fully infected our political system on every level it seems. Is there not an honest politician left in our country today?
