Best documentary series ever, and it's not super close in my opinion. Ken Burns productions are money, and Shelby Foote is tGOAT. Never gets old.

IMO it holds up, some parts cheesy but a great cast. The series starts around 1844 and leads up and through the war.

Foote died at Baptist Hospital in Memphis on June 27, 2005, aged 88. He was interred in Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis. His grave is beside the family plot of General Forrest.[16]
