Anyone watch this series yet? I'm on Ep 3 now. There's four one-hour episodes.

Shows you how easy it is to fully manipulate and brain wash human beings.

The story of the Fundamentalists Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Religious cults are weird as hell. I won't give away any spoilers, but it is a pretty interesting documentary.

I don't remember seeing any of this on the news, but I didn't watch the news a whole bunch back then. It seemed to hit the news I guess in the mid 2000s. Anyone remember this?

LDS is particularly weird, at least to most Americans.

I started last night, it's pretty good. Crazy arse people. I remember the news about it sometime in the early 2000s.

I grew up about 30 miles from Eldorado, TX and they were our main rival. By 2007 I was doing some work with their school district in a professional capacity and a dude I worked with at the school was the only pilot in town so he was flying Dr. Phil, Oprah, and other celebrities and news personalities over the compound for months. He said you could definitely tell when it was one of their group running around town. It was pretty wild.

I will give law enforcement credit for not turning into another Waco. From what I understand, the sheriff has an idea what was going on and developed a relationship with Jeffs to avoid that from happening again.

Pretty good show on FX and Hulu as well called “Under the Banner of Heaven”. It’s about the Lafferty Murders in UT. Some scenes make you sick on what these guys did.

Haven't seen it, but murder among Mormons was good.

I just watched all 4 episodes. It was very well made. Super maddening.

Like, I feel bad for what so many of the women and kids went through, and I feel even worse for the ones who are still a part of the FLDS church looking at Jeffs like he’s some kind of martyr. It’s so sad to me that I can’t properly put it into words.

Well, one of his deputies had a few sister wives so it sounds like Jeffs was supplying the local sheriffs department with underage girls.

I ran a health care enterprise in San Angelo, the largest town in the vicinity. When they came in, the women were never unaccompanied. They paid thousands of dollars in cash, upfront.
