Riding in the left lane is not inherently illegal if you are the only car on the road. What makes you in violation of the law (in states that have it) is when you refuse to get over and allow others to pass.

This is my #1 pet peeve! And is it me but I swear that the majority of people I encounter that do this are black folks? is it a black thing not to get over for whitey? I'm just asking...they will not get over for anything! And what's worse the majority of them are on their cell phones and driving under the speed limit fricking aggravates the hell out of me

Alright tough guy, try and play that role. But I'm slowing down traffic to save lives, kids' lives. So if I see you pulling this kinda horse play on an interstate, I'll let you have your fun. But next exit you pull off on I'm gonna beat some respect into your punk arse .

that is a national epidemic. We should have German or Scandinavian level drivers license testing.

I'm more upset about the fact that locally most don't use a blinker.

Finally was able to get past a left lane slow driver earlier this week on Airline Hwy. It was a lady that was at least 80 years old. Seems as if she was wearing blinders was oblivious of her surroundings.

No way she's able to pass the driving part of a driving test.

I'm gonna pass any way you put it. Like it or not, I'm passing. Doesn't bother me to get in the right lane and cut a left-laner off. Doesn't bother me to swerve across 4 lanes and right back going 90mph. I actually drive 5-10mph faster than I normally would when people are jamming me up, so you're making me drive faster

I will get over if there is room for me to not have to brake.

If I have to slow down to let some a-hole get one car ahead I aint moving. Im talking about when there is traffic and they a-hole trying to pass isn't going anywhere but up the arse of the car in front of me.

I blocked 3 cars this week tryin to pass me on the right when there was maybe one car length of open space between me and the car in front. everyone in the left lane was passing slower traffic in right lane.

should have left earlier

In reality, cars going 5 mph slower than the surrounding traffic have a greater chance of causing accidents than cars going 5 mph faster, and having slow drivers in both lanes often results in faster drivers weaving in and out of traffic, drastically increasing the risk of accidents.

I would say this happens because it is NEVER enforced. Well, so it seems.

I've seen someone pulled over here in TX (where it's horrible). It was very satisfying. Cop was on the shoulder. Car was in left lane with no one around. Cop floored it off the shoulder and rode his arse. Actually gave him a chance to get over. When he didn't, he hit the lights and pulled him over.

Now, if I'm going 75 in a 70, I'm getting in the left lane as long as I'm actually passing someone. I don't give a shite if you are doing 80. I'm not slowing down so that you don't have to slow down. The fact that you are going 80, does not make you more important.

if that 5mph is still exceeding the speed limit this is false.

Do your job and pull that MF'r over and give them a ticket...and while you're at it check to see when their last text message was sent...

I do enjoy blocking that right lane passer in the scenerio you described. I will speed up or slow down to make it work where they end up getting stuck in right lane. Fck them

Why is it that so many Louisianians have trouble following this rule on two lane roads?

Do you know what a two lane road is?

I agree with four lane (and higher) roads
