Word is that DKE just had an off campus OD death during the break. It didn't get any coverage that I saw but would explain campus clamping down.

SAE at Ole Miss did something similar years ago.

I had a ton of friends in that chapter and their stories were hilarious. Some nerds came down from nationals on a surprise visit, drug tested everyone which caused half of them to walk out, then quizzed the rest on fraternity trivia like the words to their song, founding fathers, reciting prayers, etc.

I think like 20 survived the whole thing out of 100...something like that

This is why fraternities need to be handled by regional powers.

I can't name a single fraternity down south that even remotely respects their nationals and vice versa.

When were you at Carolina?

Edit: sorry saw 2003. Was going to ask about some people I knew from about '99.

Quick way to kill a frat

What's weird is that not long ago drugs were considered extremely trashy for greeks. Sure you had the coke heads in a few fraternities, but pot was looked upon as something for dirty hippies. Guys caught doing drugs were kicked out. Nobody wanted that around the house.

Given how many people are OD'ing these days, I'm not surprised if they don't all start drug testing.

We knew that Universities wanted to get rid of fraternities but who knew the Fraternities themselves were in on it

I was under the impression that Kappa Sig at LSU was just a bunch of nerds when they came back after the ban. The Kappa Sigs in the 80's and 90's didn't play any games though.

Every time some idiot freshman OD's, their parents sue the university, the chapter, and nationals. And they usually win/settle.

It's more because kids are pussies and whine about hazing than anything else.

KSig nationals do not hold back when it comes to SEC chapters. Same thing happened at OM. Charter pulled by nationals, weren't even in trouble w/ OM.
