Owing the IRS 50 million is not speech.
Adidas sued him for breaking their contract, which does limit his speech and actions, like most contracts with some sort of celebrity endorsement include. You can limit your own speech and actions via morals clauses in contracts. It is a bed you make in exchange for compensation.
When it was clear he was going down in flames the above entities took legal action to protect their potential judgments.
There is a difference between being prevented from saying something and being insulated from the consequences of exercising your free speech.

An even dumber example. Kanye trashed Morgan in public and said he would quit banking with them. Upon hearing that they gave him 60 days to transfer his funds. If a client of mine goes in public and trashes me and/or my firm and says they are going to fire us upon verifying it I would have a termination of services letter in their inbox within the hour followed by hard copy and giving them instructions on how to pick up their files and settle any monies that needed to go in either direction.
