You have to tend to the meat anyways. Spritzing, wrapping, etc. Set it and forget it does not work proper smoking.

That being said, if you need this much computing power to smoke meat, you need to go back to school.

If you don’t enjoy the actual process of BBQ then Big Mike’s is probably for you.

JFC, we don’t need it. It’s a convenient way to take care of it while you may be sleeping or mowing or scrubbing the baseboards or myriad other things over the 8-14 hours it takes to smoke a pork butt or brisket.

Nobody said so. But you don’t spritz right away and/or every hour on the hour. And you don’t wrap until well into the cook when the meat has absorbed all the smoke it can, if you wrap at all.

Ive had the CampChef Woodwind Wifi for almost 2 years now. I can control the temp and amount of smoke from offshore

Bitch has a flat top, sear box, and a pizza oven. Also has 4 dedicated meat probes.

So yea, some people do have something like it.

Yes, pellet grills have been around for a few years now.

This is not a pellet grill; struggling to understand how y’all haven’t figured this out yet.

So if you don’t want to do any of the actual work yourself, why not just pick up some BBQ at your local restaurant?

Im not struggling to figure anything out.

The specific type fuel source has nothing to do with the functionality that you are flipping out about. Youre losing your mind about being able to do other shite while you smoke something like its a new thing. Im just pointing out that its not, whether you use pellets or lump.

Sorry your wife wont let you get your new pit.

Because frick you, that’s why. I did the work to buy the meat. I did the work to prepare the meat. At the end of the day, the smoker is doing the work of cooking the food. If I want to sleep more than I want to stay up all night to babysit a fire, I’m finding it difficult to understand why it effects you purists so much that you feel the need to shite on others for not wanting to do that.

But hey, I’m sure your brisket or Boston butt is world fricking class.

Get a robot to flip the meat and you'll never have to step outside.

I believe you have to go see L. Ron Hoover at the First Church of Appliantology to get one of those robot meat flippers.

I’m not losing my mind about it. I think it’s a cool feature. You don’t even have to use the electrical settings at all. You can use it the regular way like the other style Kamados. It’s a neat feature unlike anything else out there.

I have a brand new Kamado Joe sitting on my back porch right now. I’ve had it for about 8 months now. So I won’t be getting one for years if ever.

Well, you keep harping on this specific feature. I think this is why most are giving you grief. You keep peddling this like its some groundbreaking new technology and youre doubling down on it. Sure it might be new to Kamodo, but being able to monitor and control your fire from a distance is nothing new and that seems to be your key selling point.

Just my .02

I’m not saying the electrical aspect is groundbreaking. I’m saying the option to do electrical or traditional way is what makes it cool. That’s my key selling point b

There are an awful lot of people in this thread who are so insecure over their masculinity that a smoker/grill is a major threat.
