Friends don't let friends buy pit bulls.

Every Pit I've known if the owner was cool the dog was cool. Chows however are all mental irregardless of owner.

So nothing happened, dogs were sweet, and you were an a-hole to them because of what you read on the OT.

I adopted a dog in November who is at least partially pit bull. Never in a million years did I think I'd get one, but he couldn't hurt a fly.
How do I know? Dude lost a fight to a little kitty cat that's in my neighborhood.
But he's not one of those thick, muscle bound pits with the pointy ears and chain collar. He's just a mix.

Were told we were rescuing a 100% American Bulldog. Trained with him for a few weeks and brought him home. Tried to eat my little dog and started growling at my then 6 year old son. Found out it was half Pit. Screw that noise! Sent him back and will never touch that breed again.
FFW a few years and at Canes Dog Park with my friendly pup and this 6’5 fat SJW girl lets her pit bull loose and it pins my dog down by the neck - I didn’t see it happen but saw this man run over there and kick the living crap out of that dog. The big gal was furious and crying and caused a big scene. If I see pits at the park, I move on.

Pit Bulls should never be allowed in dog parks. PERIOD!

If I’ve learned anything regarding pits and this site is that the OT is full of pussies that favors dogs that the homo crowd tends to veer toward. I don’t have nor ever owned a pit

They really were sweet dogs
Your daughter coulda been chewed up if you do something to set em off. They should all be shot as soon as spotted.
quote:at twelve you should show her pics of the carnage. She isn't four years old any more.
My daughter hasn't been exposed to that information and she loves and trusts dogs.

Man I had a tense moment with a 3 year old Bull Terrier a few weeks ago. My son (14) and I went to a place where I take clients to fish in the fall and duck hunt in winter. This trip was on the house for me and my son because I bring him a lot of business. He has a couple of dogs. One of them is the bull terrier. The last two years it has acted kind of skiddish around the adults I take but has never gotten aggressive.
My son and I walked over to his house on the canal at 5:30am to go out on the boat to a blind. My guide friend had to go back up into his house (on stilts) for something and at the same time my son needed to piss. I told him to walk over to the canal and undo his wader straps and pull them down and piss. The bull terrier kind of followed him over and when my son was walking back and trying to pull the waders back over his shoulders, the dog kept grabbing the strap from behind and yanking it down. He finally got the straps on and came down and sat next to me on a swing chair as we waited for my friend to come down to push out.
While we were sitting there, the dog came over and stood all tensed up between my sons lnees just staring him in the face. The dog wasn’t moving at all and I could feel tension from the dog and anxiety from my son. I got really anxious to because this dog looked like it was ready to go to town. I told my son “just look above him and don’t make eye contact” while I tried to vocally snap the dog out of the trance. Right them it lunged up and snapped about a foot from his face and went back to its standing position and starting barking. I thought I was about to have to defend my boy from this dog and my heart was racing 180 beats a minute. I stood up and nudged it with my knee and gave it some loud commands to move on. Hell, I didn’t know what to do. It finally moved back and started walking back and forth side to side.
Luckily, my friend came down at that time and the dog trotted over to him as he was walking to the boat. We stood up and went over to the boat and I told him what had happened. He said he was probably just wanting to play and can get aggressive at times. Plays rough. I am 49 and have been around dogs all my life. That dog wasn’t asking to play. It was in a trance and intended to go off. He told me later that day that he felt bad for my son being scared and that he would end up shooting the dog and taking it out to feed the sharks if it ever hurt anyone. I think he was unsettled to hear how the dog had acted to a younger kid when he wasn’t around. It was sedition his mind the rest of the day as he told his wife what the dog had done when we were grilling oysters that night.
It was a very tense moment. I have had a few with dogs over my life and that one was much worse because it was my son that was being threatened.

Pits and their owners need to be slowly bred out of the gene pool
