Since it is probably about to go toes up.

Tldr: If you are tired of the sanitized shopping experience of a Walmart or Target and want to travel back in time visit your closest Kmart.

Tons of inventory from brands I had never heard of, 25 year old pop music playing on the speakers, closed down food court, and random chinese Craftsman tools. Numerous lights out and wood paneling.

I hate it for the people that work there, but even if someone bails them out I don’t see how they survive.

If you consider Walmart to be anything associated with the word "sanitized" you need to seek professional help.

I am a proud former K-mart employee. Worked there for about a year in 1993-94.

I went to the one in Gonzales on Airline a few years ago. Middle of the day on Saturday and half the lights were shut off.. empty boxes in the middle of the aisles. But you're right I did find some good deals.

Anyone know if that one is still open? Haven't passed by it in awhile.

ETA: Nvm I see post above where there's only two left. And I lol'd at Sao's comment

Go while you still can! Sears just closed 80 more Sears/KMart stores. Might not be around too long.

Don't cry if KMart closes!
