There is not much man-made shite that is as phenomenal as watching a night launch on the Indian river... except that deet you're gonna need to watch said ordeal.

I really hope they bring back night launches on the new Heavy lifters.
Watch some YouTube HDs of night shuttle launches.
They are awe inspiring.
Turning night to day over a span of miles.

Night launches
Watched a night space shuttle launch with my little girl on a clear night in winter with just a few people around us on Cocoa Beach. Everything got tremendously bright and there was a physical rumble. No one said a word and we watched it fly up into the sky until all there was left was the tail flame which by then just looked like another star. Coolest thing I ever saw and with my daughter. Tell me something better.

Watched Challenger launch in August of 1983 at around 2:00 in the morning. Watched it from a bank parking lot just across the lake from launch pad.
You are right in that this being one of the most phenomenal things to watch in person. Lit up the sky like it was noon. Truly beautiful sight to see.
This mission included the first black guy to go to space.
