There should be a way to disable all phones once the car is in drive. It should be mandatory that you have to use Apple car play etc if you have it, and if you don’t, tough shite. You will have to wait until you get there. Phones should only be able to be used for emergencies otherwise. Who can help me create this technology?! We can be rich!
I have said this for years. The problem is that no manufacturer wants to be the first to do this. The fear the people will not purchase the car is far greater than the safety. Also, car manufacturers benefit from car crashes so why would they want to create something that could eat into their bottom line?

There are apps that disable the phone while driving. Att has one. You can disable it but if enabled it uses the GPS to figure out the car is moving and it automatically texts the person calling or texting, letting them know you are driving. I don't text and drive. I call hands free.

The "big steel" wrecks in the 50's were the worst.
Picked up many that were dead from splinters in the old “Woody’s” and other real wood paneled cars.

This is the worst one and it's from a drunk driver. When the bystanders got out of their cars to check on the victim, they knew she was gone with one immediate glance and you can see the POS drunk abandoning his truck and trying to leave the scene but he's too drunk to walk and collapses.

Stalled traffic and distracted driver/hauling arse...
Yep, distracted driving should carry a stiffer, or at least as stiff of penalty as a DWI. I mean these people are in their normal, unaltered state of mind and still do this careless shite. frick either one, but I actually detest the texting while driving crowd more.
