Just how important is it to have your side of the bed?

My wife is always wanting to change sides with me. I honestly don’t know why but I cannot bring myself to do that. I insist on her getting off my side. If feels sheepish but it is real. How important is it for you to have your side of the bed?

Yes I have my side and she has hers. I’ve learned that the only reason she asks to switch sides is because she is testing me to see if I’ll do it or not. That’s the only reason. Otherwise, my nightstand has my items and her side has hers. No need to switch sides.

Same side in our bed for 12 years. I always sleep on the side closer to the door in hotel beds.

When you think about it, it’s weird. But one side feels familiar and “right” while the other side is strange. My theory is in the condition or quality of your regular mattress. You get used to the feel of any grooves, lumps, springs, etc. in your regular spot.

My side is whichever side faces the door...same with restaurants. My wife knows this. Although, I’ve found my wife cuddled up at the foot of the bed, head at the foot and feet at the head, and sideways across me. I don’t think she really gives a shite.
