By the descriptions it sounds like breaking sound barrier. Used to happen all the time.

Used to hear sonic booms all the time growing up. They would circle Chennault and I guess speed up once out in the country away from Lake Charles.

Cousin Eddie in the area. Unloaded his RV sewer tank into the storm sewer. Then lit a match…..

So, if it was a sonic boom (and I agree that’s what it sounded/felt like to me), one has to wonder — if it wasn’t a meteorite, then what military jet would be flying Mach 1+ this time of night? And why?

I heard alot more than one boom. Not just one cannon going off. More like a reenactment taking place. With that said, the filming a movie idea has potential minus being late night Christmas Eve and the huge area that heard things. So maybe multiple objects entering atmosphere?

Heard about dozen rounds from a semi automatic weapon around Geismar while walking at this time. I assume that’s just Candy Cane Ln doing what it do.

Definitely heard it here in Scotlandville. I thought it was William Wallace shooting lighting bolts from his arse.

Propane cannon. Where I am they fire every minute or so all night this time of year. Keeps the birds out of farmer's fields.

Oh ok. I've never seen one before, but used to hear them around catfish ponds years ago.

I don’t see that being used anywhere close enough to rattle windows unless someone got one for Christmas and felt like testing it out in the backyard

Heard something but it could've been anything.
Oh damn, I'm all the way over in Florida and I heard something last night that sounded like it could've been anything too.
WHAT IS HAPPENING

It would fit with my repeated booms out in the country, but not window rattling in Baton Rouge. Something else is afoot here.
