I did one at 50 as well. I thought I was in good shape for my age (ran 4/5 miles 4x per week and also biked a few times a week).

I got on the tread mill thinking it would take 30+ minutes to wear me out....then the incline started. At 10 minutes, I was dead and embarrassed (was hoping to impress the good looking nurse).

I guess running in South Louisiana does not prepare you for inclines.

I used to go to a Navy doc for flight physicals, he would like to BS but when he started he started to walk over to the box of gloves you'd better have a quick answer ready, "Captain, when's the last time..." "I just had it checked last week sir" if there was any hesitation at all, he could snap that glove on so fast you could smell the latex burning, "bend over that table for me son!" you just hoped to never feel his second hand on your shoulder

Or when you take your pants off, ask him where you should put them, and he says "just lay 'em down over there with mine".

Or when the doctor says after the prostate exam, "That felt good!", and you are not 100% sure what he meant. Did the prostate feel good or did the entire experience just feel good to him?

Or when he uses both hands on my shoulders for leverage when checking my prostate.

I did that today as well and I'm only 29. Also had a bubble test done today. The doctor was suspecting some sort of septum disorder in my heart but it seems I'm clear. Better safe than sorry.

Made it 15 minutes. That shite ain't no joke. I doubt I'd have made it the full 21 minutes but I could have went another minute or so.

Damn, the time for a 29 year old is 21 minutes? That would suck.

Ive done both the physical and chemical stress tests. I really don't know which one is worse. Both suck.

Props for 15 minutes. Did mine a month ago and got to right at 13.. was not fun. If I have to run anywhere and it takes me 13 minutes, I'm driving.

i'm 50 and not sure how i'd do on that test either.

its funny the muscle groups you get used to. i can ride a bike for 100 miles with multiple climbs where i jump out of the saddle and sprint to the top and feel ok when i'm done.

but if i try to run a mile i'm in hell.

you'd think being healthy in one activity would translate to another but it doesn't.

I'd be afraid to even try running period, much less for the times y'all are talking in here.

6 minutes is required and had to get the top number of my blood pressure over 160. Took 8 minutes to get it there. It seems like it sat at 158 for ever. At 21 minutes I'd have been at 23 degree incline and hauling arse. Can't remember how many mph she said. I had to go back to work so I wasn't about to keep going just to show off. I needed a shower as it was. She told me shes only seen a handful of people make it the full 21.

I did a nuclear stress test couple of months ago due to family history of heart disease. I never made it to the treadmill. They got me prepped with all of the leads etc, and then gave me the medicine to get my heartbeat up. Few seconds later I started feeling very different and blood pressure started dropping. I almost passed out, went all the way down to 60/40 and they were finally able to get it reversed. Doc said I didn't need to get on treadmill since they stressed my heart out enough for the day.

The bad thing is that I have been stuck behind a control board for the last 6 years. Sitting for 12 hours a day, seven days every two weeks took a toll.

Sounds like an excuse. I've been behind a desk as an EE for 16 years and I'm in better shape than nearly all of you lazy frickers.

A former coworker of mine died in the doctor's office while doing his treadmill stress test. Not sure if I ever want to do one.
