Just had LASIK surgery done, is it common for my vision to still be blurry?

I can read well enough but it still feels like my eyes aren't completely adjusted or done healing. I had the procedure done around 2:30 and I just woke up from a nap about 15 minutes ago. Also, any advice would be welcome, thank you

Yeah... Driving at night will be a visual acid show for the first year

they actually cut slits in your eye, so I think some healing will have to happen before you are 100%.

fwiw, I am not a doctor, but I am staying at a holiday inn express right now....

Did you think about asking the eye doctor who did the surgery?

You're going blind. I'm sorry, they warned you about the risks.

Usually takes a day before normal vision kicks in.

I probably should have but I was in and out within an hour and just basically listening to his instructions on the eye drops and resting.

Jesus, dude, I was told basically to not even open my eyes until the next morning in order to heal. Get off of TD and get some rest.

Possible that your surgery went well and you just have a small case of arse cancer.

IIRC you are not supposed to be reading or watching tv right now. They gave me Valium before the procedure & 2 sleeping pills to sleep the rest of the day.
Your eyes are probably dry, probably why stuff seems blurry.
The antibiotic drops are disgusting, you can taste them in your throat.
I didn't use those like I was supposed to, but I kept up with the moisturizing drops.
Driving at night is almost scary at first.
Good Luck

I second Bunk. It takes a few days to heal and you will be able to see the differences get smaller from day to day. I'm a fast healer though. The burst around lights at night was the last to go.

I had it done a little over a month ago. The day after is much better. I drove myself to the follow up appointment the next morning. I was seeing 20/25.

Did you get the X-ray vision implants?

Seriously, though. I got lasik 13 years ago. The starburst at night drove me crazy and made driving at night quite difficult for well over a year. It got better eventually. It's been a while, but the blurry vision and discomfort were gone within a week IIRC

I hope that you recover okay, but a lot of people say that they develop dry-eye from the incisions made in their eyes and end up seeing halos around lights at night.

Dude go to sleep. Your vision sucks the first day or so. You are supposed to sleep, sleep, sleep.
