Thought I would bump this.
I heard an ad on the radio this morning for Vivint on XM. It said "service not available in Louisiana" at the end of the ad.
Dont know if the OP lives in LA, but watch out.

I have Custom Security with a couple of cameras, and I spend lots of enjoyable time at work staring at my driveway.

I'm interested in this. I have my alarm and monitoring through custom. What was the cost of cameras installed and everything?
How many cameras do you have? You have them linked through an app or something?

Had some guys come to my house a few years ago trying to sell shite. Got pushy. 10 mins later I look outside, and the cops had one in the car. I asked what was going on, and he said a guy in a van drops them off, and they basically go around scamming folks. I walked up to the other one and told him I would fricking kill both of them if I see them again.

Very good system and good customer service. Over priced! Contract is also too long. You can find an equal system for less money without a contract.
Be careful with the door to door Vivint guys, they will often lie in order to close sale.

Man I pay a lot less with custom security and I don't have a landline.
I always set off my alarm by accident and they call me to verify. My lab and big huge pit bull love to lick the key pad when I try to deactivate the alarm.
I had them come by but my huge dogs one huge pit bull looking dog, huge lab, and two cats all adopted from Petsmart scared him. Hey if I am attacked the robber has to beat my animals to my money. My animals will win that pit bull looking thing a mean looking dog.

Came by my house back in June. They work an area for a week then move to another. Sat on the front porch for about an hour and a half somewhat interested. Told him to come back the next day so I could do some research. Seemed to be numerous complaints against this company. Told him of course no.

They are pretty pushy trying to get in to your house. However, in the end, Vivint offered far more value than ADT (our incumbent system). We made the switch.

This. I feel like a sheep. He told me it would cost X to cancel ADT, when the price was Y. I'm
for not verifying that number. Serious brain fart right there.
