Same thing happened to me. Guy seemed nice enough. I have no idea if it's a scam or not, but he knocked on my door and asked if I had a security system and I looked at him in the eye, then looked at the signed that is clearly visible in my front yard that says I have security, then looked him back in the eye and said, "Yes."
He felt stupid.

Vivint was in my neighborhood today too. ADT was about 3 weeks ago. Damn door to door people.

I purchased a system from a door-to-door guy from Vivent last year. It's great. I read a bunch of negative stuff online but then started to notice the language in the reviews was identical despite being posted by different names in different areas. I asked the guy about it and he said they think ADT made a mass effort to put negative reviews online.
I don't regret the decision at all. It's a little more expensive than my old system but it's much better quality and it's got some home automation features.

Anyone that goes door to door in EBR or Ascension must have a permit. Ask to see it. If they don't have one close the door.
