Just Had a Conversation with a Guy Wearing a BLM Shirt

I sit next to a 30s, hip-looking black guy with dreds at the Reagan National sky club. He's having jovial conversations with the black bartender and then turns to me. We engage on where we're from (Atlanta for him) and discuss the weather and what not, before I ask him about his BLM shirt.
He says he actually gets a lot of flak from his community in Atlanta, who apparently thinks the phrase 'Black Learning Matters' implies that blacks have to learn to 'get in line' as he put it. I agree with his stance, that it steps above the politics of the original blm movement and strikes at perhaps the heart of a much larger and more important issue.
Dreds aside, he was well-spoken and tells me he consults on jury selection for complex litigation firms.
I think he may be onto something with his bumper sticker T-shirt. This seems like a motto the OT can get behind.
Does BLM have any merit to it?

Your buddy is an FBI informant infiltrating the real BLM movement. He was just throwing you off.

Hopefully you clowned him about 28-3.

Unlike you simpletons not every conversation has to revolve around a sports team that you have no real vested interest in besides them conning you into buying their shitty merchandise because you lack connection to something meaningful in your life.

But you have a conservation about what his t-shirt says.

Being an old fart who spent a few years living out west, every time I see the acronym BLM I think Bureau of Land Management.

BLM is already branded as Black Lives Matter. Whether it is officially trademarked or not, when most people see BLM they associate it with Black Lives Matter.
You can't just make up some other words that start with B, L & M, claim that's what it means to you then go around thinking that everyone who says they are supporting BLM are actually supporting whatever bullshite you make up.

If people of all races spent more time sharing some conversation over a beer and less time getting riled up online, the world would be a better place.

I didn't assume that he wasn't, but thanks for clarifying.

Double negatives, idiot.
Maybe we can get him to tutor you.

If it did, their #1 issue would be black people killing each other. Instead it's not on the radar and they blame white people and cops for all their problems.

Since when did dreads determine the intelligence of a person?
