I wouldn't know. I only had them legally through injuries. Just took a guess

Drink half of a gallon of milk, then bring it back and tell them it was bad

This has happened to me before. Go back up there. If the drawer is over they will know it.

That extra 20 will probably show up with Cashier is done for the day.
That $20 has long been out of that register.

I still find that cash is pretty convenient in a lot of ways.
Especially when you don't want to leave an incriminating paper trail.
Wait. What?

They have cameras above the register and can do an audit of the register to see how much money is supposed to be in there.

Shopping at Wal-Mart - Check
Shopping in the middle of the work day - Check
Using cash for groceries/essentials - Check
Being upset over $20 - Check
While all of the above do trend to the trashy end of behaviors, by doing the first, the last would be a given.

Shopping at walmart- See previous post
Shopping in the middle of the work day - Just finished school and we have today off. Start our rotations tomorrow.
Using cash for groceries/essentials - Needed to break a $100
Being upset over $20 - I'm in college, and it's the principle of the matter that these same people want $15/hr and can't do their job
Being upset enough to bring it to social media - Just asked to see what tOT would do

Call and speak to the manager. Explain in an objective manner what you think happened. Ask the manager to check that register to see if it is 20 bucks over.
Or, yell, scream and accuse the cashier of stealing your money.

Look, I'm all about the principle and stretching a dollar as far as it goes, I'm just letting you know what many on here will say.
GL getting it back. The security footage should tell the tale.

Was there a "Leave a $20 Take a $20" jar?

I can't really fathom not noticing being handed a 20 and two 1s on a $58 purchase

This is why you count your change.

You should always use the self checkout.
