Don't get me wrong, I think it's fair to say what happened in the OP is a reason to carry...that's not inherently wrong. In fact, i'd go the other way and say I agree with it.

But there is a thing where everyone on here thinks carrying solves all problems and that you'll win every single shootout you ever get in no matter if it's you vs 5 others.

There was a thread just the other day of someone in an altercation with 4 dudes and 1 pulled a gun, and everyone's reply was that the OP should have just had a gun and shot him and that would have solved the problem, nevermind there would be 3 other dudes who you can fairly assume all have guns too, and the OP had his wife with him as well.


I think the other assumption is that if you have a gun and some thing like this happens, the absolute best thing you can do every single time is to fire your gun, and again, that's not always true. If someone already has their gun out and on you, and they have other accomplices, or maybe you have family with you....obviously all scenarios are different, but there are plenty of scenarios where never pulling out your gun may be the safest play that gives you the best chance of you and your loved ones surviving the incident.

Waited more than 2 hours in Dallas after dark and alone. They never showed up.

There is no restaurant on MLK and St. Charles.
