Just came home to busted pipe

Just got home to find my master bedroom flooded from a busted pipe up stairs. Ceiling literally on the floor, memory foam mattress( not even 1 year old) at its max capacity. Brand new bedroom furniture (maybe 4 months old) covered with water, brand new carpet flooded! So what are y’all drinking tonight

Happened to me, though it wasn't a line to a second story. It was a line to a water heater in the attic. Weather almost exactly like we have now.
I didn't find out until it had run for 9 hours and I came home from work to find 3 inches of water in the entire house. Three rooms of ceiling collapsed. The house had to be gutted and remediated just like a flood except half of the ceilings had to be replaced as well. Tear down to studs and slab and rebuild. $150,000 in insurance payouts and 6 months later I could move back in.
Here's to OP's nightmare being nowhere as bad as that.
