just try to find somewhere dry and warm and enjoy some silence.
Oddly enough, the warmest spot he's got is his house, but it probably isn't all that dry, even in rooms where the water wasn't. With all the water in the house and if the heater's been running for a while over that water, that air's going to be 75 degrees and 95% humidity. Think Louisiana summer morning. It's really unpleasant.

Call Emergency Restoration Inc to get out there to remediate damage
At least now you’ll have some brand new updates courtesy of your insurance before listing it

I opened this thinking that it would be about something totally different. Either way, sorry about your mattress.

Try to track down your electric bill from the same billing period last year.
After the dry-out is completed for this loss, submit your electric bill along with last years to your insurance carrier.
The spike in electrical usage should be reimbursed to you.

You should have let your outside faucets drip and open your cabinets.

Sucks man. All I did was wrap a hand-towel around the outside faucet, then drip the kitchen sink. Wake up nervous every morning, but at least I know it’s metal piping.

You don't need bigger pipes. It's absolutely fricking stunning how much water a half inch or 3/4 line can dump and how much damage that can cause.
