I suppose winging it is a better option.

Then that's a lot of wrong scholars. I think the only letter whose authorship can't be confirmed is Hebrews... and most likely it was Paul.

No. And believe it or not, creating straw men also isn't a better option.

I'd love to see that confirmation.

It’s the dumbest story ever believed. Speculating about a fairy tale may be even dumber, though.

What does this have to do with the OP? We have God's word. The Word literally says that it is authority. What else do you need?

This thread is full of people who believe some fairy tales telling other people that their fairy tales are ridiculous.

I don't think she did. And there is literally nothing in the Bible stating otherwise.

Let's get into the weeds with this one.

The word used by the angel Gabriel in Luke's gospel to describe Mary was "kekaritomene," a hapax legomenon. It's a word that was created specifically to describe her. Kecharitomene is also different from the word used to describe someone who is simply granted or saved by grace. That word is "echaristosen."
quote:

Grammatically, the word kecharitomene is the feminine present perfect passive voice participle of a verb, specifically, the Greek verb ?a??t?? (charitóo).  In the passive voice, the verb means to have been made graceful, to have been endowed with grace.

Not only that, it was given as her title, in place of her name, after the word "Hail" (which is where we get the praise for Mary, but not worship, which is another critique I've seen in this thread.) So for lack of a better way to say it, we have "hail, full of grace;" but in its original sense it's much closer to "Hail, the one known as Full of Grace, which was bestowed only to you and exists in perpetuity." That one's a little bit wordier.

That's where just one of the arguments for the Immaculate Conception comes from in scripture.

Does the Bible actually say this? FYI, the phrase "the Word" is typically a reference to Jesus, not scripture.

Thank you for an actual honest answer and explanation.

I'll look over it through my Southern Baptist glasses, but they released the first 3 episodes of Season 2 of Reacher a day early, so it will have to be tomorrow.

Yes you are wrong. For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Including Mary

And yet, all that does not mean that she was sinless.
