I just read something about this on daily mail
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12632743/Incredible-moment-man-saves-dog-drowned-kangaroo.html

Arms seem too big, but it could also be not seeing a comparison with legs. In another pic with two kangaroos if just viewing the one on the left waist up in water it might make arms appear to be even larger than already look in comparison to one on the right.

Also read the below
quote:

Along with dingoes, introduced species such as foxes, feral cats, and both domestic and feral dogs, pose a threat to kangaroo populations. Kangaroos and wallabies are adept swimmers, and often flee into waterways if presented with the option. If pursued into the water, a large kangaroo may use its forepaws to hold the predator underwater so as to drown it. Another defensive tactic described by witnesses is catching the attacking dog with the forepaws and disembowelling it with the hind legs.

… Females can weigh from 18 to 40 kg (40 to 88 lb), while males typically weigh about twice as much at 55 to 90 kg (121 to 198 lb). The average red kangaroo stands approximately 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) tall to the top of the head in upright posture. Large mature males can stand more than 1.8 m (5.9 ft) tall, with the largest confirmed one having been around 2.1 m (6 ft 11 in) tall and weighed 91 kg (201 lb)

Edit: apparently some large males can develop large forearms like in OP

Ruthless. So dogs should add cops and kangaroos to their known list of predators.

I don’t know how much the pics of Roger the kangaroo had size emphasized or pics lacked perspective, but Roger was first famous baw kangaroo. Unfortunately being a baw have him a lot of later health issues and earlier death in captivity than usual.

TMZ with the story:

quote:

A man in Australia was forced to put up his dukes against a buff kangaroo that was holding his dog hostage ... catching the whole thing on camera.

The down-under beatdown took place between the 'roo and Mildura resident Mick Moloney ... who took a swing at the animal, and got knocked in return -- his camera took a tumble into the water, but his dog was safe from the scary situation.

Mick told ABC Radio Melbourne Afternoons he was stretching near the river over the weekend when he noticed his pup, Hatchi, was nowhere to be found.

He soon found his answer, though -- first noticing the kangaroo staring at him in the river, then his dog came up from the water, yelping as water gushed out of its mouth.

Mick claims Hatchi was in a headlock and knew he had to go save his doggo ... but admitted the kangaroo looked "jacked," adding, "I was like 'this thing's just got out of jail' or something."

He says it was pretty strong -- but he slapped the marsupial across the head and got into a tussle in the water. Mick admits it looked like it was gonna kick him, too ... but he splashed some water in its face while he bolted to the shore where his dog was safe.

BTW, Mick is a mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor ... but claims people are already asking him when he'll start teaching "roo-jitsu."

Kangaroos are fricking weird, and I don't like them. Something is off. It's like a giant rodent combined with a monkey with a pouch. What the frick is a pouch? And why do they look like a science experiment gone wrong.

We need answers.

Apparently, these things are like wild hogs, just a nuisance animal. That's what a dude from australia told me once.

I’ve heard the same thing. They’re also very good to eat.

I was shocked when I found out they eat kangaroo. I figured that’d be like us eating a bald eagle.

There are plenty of instances of kangaroos drowning dogs by holding them down Underwater. This is a common thing.

I agree with Mick. That thing looks like something out of a horror flick.

I went to Australia and New Zealand this summer. We were on the plane leaving Australia when somebody told me that one of the restaurants we went to had a roo burger.

I was pissed - I would have chowed a roo burger for science purposes.
