'Just sit this one out': Chicago mayor tells Trump not to get involved in Jussie Smollett probe and says he will give the Empire actor a bill for the police investigation into 'hoax'

quote:

Emanuel says the cost of the police probe into the January 29 attack is around $150,000

He said city lawyers were still totaling up the final cost and would send Smollett's team a letter with it

Translation: We will throw you this bone in exchange for you not digging deep into this, because otherwise we fear you will discover the high level political players involved in this

It really does feel like there are higher people being protected and I've never been a conspiracy theorist.

NBC Chicago

Jussie says he won't pursue charges against his attackers

"I think in light of what he's been through the last two months he really just, you know, he's told me numerous times, 'I don't even care about what happened, I just want to move on,'" Glandian said, adding,"What he's been through after the fact has really been a much harsher attack than what he endured that night."

Jussie nominated for NAACP Award

USA Today

quote:

Smollett is nominated for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, scheduled for Saturday. Six-time host and "Black-ish" star Anthony Anderson told Variety on Wednesday that he hopes to see the controversial actor there. “I hope he wins," Anderson added. "I’m happy for him that the system worked for him in his favor because the system isn’t always fair, especially for people of color. So I’m glad it worked out for him."

I just love how some attention whore actor ended up making himself a joke, unwittingly destroyed multiple narratives, and then at the end turned it into one of the biggest influence peddling cases because of how it all went down

This guy leaves awesome destruction in his wake. Foxx gets him off the hook, and he doesn’t leave and stay quiet. Nope, time for a prepared statement and to have my lawyer go all over tv calling the state attorney and CPD liars and racists

He’s legit retarded
