It looks to be about five miles from the end of the runway. There are a ton of hospitals and clinics in the direct flightpath though, so it could be longer.
ETA, Estimating the point the taxiway intersects the runway to the SW end of the runway at approx 5k feet.

Absolutely hilarious this objectively true post gets downvoted.
Not sure any of those words mean what you think they do. Boeing built an objectively good and safe plane with the Dreamliner. Blaming Boeing here is objectively stupid at this point.

So the Indians are taking over the UK and now they are killing britons ?

This.
The "objectively true" takeaway is to avoid IndiaAir at all costs.

don't disagree, I'm just saying that's what other information said. So maybe they were wrong. I guess being in the air for 30 seconds is still "being airborne for less than five minutes".
Yet you claim that the flaps would have been retracted (obviously) but not the landing gear.......

I think both sides of this 'argument' is being missed by both parties.
Yes the Dreamliner is a good aircraft but it's made by Boeing....can we all agree that Boeing hasn't had the best press the last few years? The public won't really care about the 'cause' of the crash but will just blame the plane.

Well they won't ever be educated if you don't point out how flawed their thinking is.

I'm claiming that every flight I've been on had the flaps retracted within the first minute or so after takeoff...when I was operating off the assumption it was airborne for ~5 minutes. Suggesting, of course, that it would've been possible for it to take off with the flaps extended but they had already been retracted.
In my last post, I believe responding to you, I acknowledged that it may have been in the air well less than five minutes, as "even 30 seconds in the air would be less than 5 minutes airborne". At no point did I comment on the landing gear.
We good now?

Right. That reply was to a poster who asked if it was a suicide pilot.

I was trying to explain that if the flaps had been retracted why wasn't the landing gear. That shows how 'soon' after takeoff this was.

If you watch any travel bloggers videos about their non fatal experiences on Air India, Pakistan International Airlines, etc., you'd never go near an airline chartered out of that part of the continent. Singapore Air, Malaysia, anything would be better. The catering and filthy aircraft (even newer ones) tell you a lot.

It crashed into a dormitory used by doctors also.
Is the building gonna collapse like the world trade center towers?

I have a hard time believing they took off without flaps extended. The plane would have been yelling at them. But lack of flaps could cause a sink issue on a hot and heavy day.
I’m still betting there was a loss of thrust issue. Whatever happened was immediate because gear was still down and the mayday came quick. Maximum altitude reported by the data was 625 feet.

The PIA crash a few years ago the Captain tried landing the plane with the gear up and the plane was screaming at them as they tried landing several times.

PIA is on a whole other level than even Air India. Which is saying something.
