Just my opinion, but I believe a major part of the reason for that is that whites don't feel the need to perpetuate the crap by taking so much offense to WORDS!

There's an old idea that if you want to piss someone off, just ignore their attempts to piss YOU off. Nobody likes being ignored.

Get the frick out of here, n*****!" and all the guys do is just keep walking, not even glancing his way. How pissed off does that redneck get? He'd probably run his truck into a pole. But if they turn and react, that just gives the guy the satisfaction of getting in their head.

They can have their word. I don't care. But when it becomes weaponized, I have a big problem with it.

I used to work with a black guy that threatened to pull that crap. Nice guy, educated, etc., but he pretty much did whatever he wanted to. We all worked for a site manager that was a real a-hole yet this guy just did whatever he wanted and didn't give a rat's arse. Someone finally asked him if he was worried about getting in trouble with the site manager and he says, "If he gives me any shite, I'll just call HR and say he called me a n*****".
