what exactly lead to the huge boom of these guys over the last decade or so? They've always been around but growing up I don't remember their advertisements completely dominating the airwaves like they do now. Watch a local news broadcast and its not out of the ordinary to see 3 injury firm commercials in a row.

Law schools primarily focusing on money, enrollment and pushing out diplomas.
People going to law school as a default plan.
Legal field can suck and have limited better options for mediocre graduates.
Shitty bar association not policing lawyer advertising better.
The may have even been a LASC decision come out in the last decade or so that ruled in favor of lax lawyer advertising rules.
