quote:

A Jefferson Parish deputy sheriff shot and killed a man early Wednesday (July 27) inside The Times-Picayune's newspaper warehouse in Metairie. The Sheriff's Office said the man pointed a gun at the deputy, during a foot chase that began with reports of two suspicious people at a nearby vehicle storage lot.

quote:

The dead man was holding a 9mm pistol with an obliterated serial number, Fortunato said. His name was not immediately released.

Oh no, I can see it now.

He was just riding his bike down the streets, minding his own business throwing out newspapers and the cop shot him in cold blood. Come to find out it wasn't a handgun he had pointed at the cop it was a newspaper with a gun image on it.

the descriptions are similar from what I hear

either way, I'll betcha that the dead thief and the armed robber if not one in the same - both should have already been locked up for something else...

Something tells me that wasn't a legal carry.

Well it is going to be claimed that the pistol was a drop/plant regardless.

Will this be a big deal?
No one was there to video it. It wasn't posted on Facebook for the world to see before any facts came out.

I wonder how similar the story would be in the Sterling case if no one would have videoed it.

Is it just Monroe or all of Louisiana where it doesn't matter if the gun is legal or not?

So was he employed by the TP or did he just happen to run inside the building?
