I hate John Oliver too, but he's spot-on with this segment.
I don't like the cheap shots he takes at Dave Ramsey though. And I say that as someone that doesn't particularly like Dave Ramsey.

I’ll post an unpopular opinion.
I don’t think all time shares are a rip off. I know some older people who enjoy going to the same place every year (the same week of the year). Is it a good financial “investment”, no. But they didn’t buy into it for an investment. They like the predictable nature of it. I wouldn’t personally buy one, but they enjoy it.
Now I will say that you have to be super careful with what you buy. Some places have decent resale, but a lot do not. And some people even have to use a service like timesharexit to get rid of their’s.

He’s not a paid puppet like Tucker Carlson or whoever from CNN. He has called out people from both sides, and overall his show is very well done. There’s actually research done and some amount of journalistic integrity. You don’t see that much these days

If you can't see that John Oliver gets more freedom to report on and cover what he wants and that much more work goes into his segments than anything coming out of Fox or CNN then you are too far gone to reason with
