I'll be in the minority here to support you. I recently started dating a girl who loves him, and when I said he looks like a douche in front of all of her friends I got a similar response to the one you're getting here.
Honestly, I have no concrete reason to hate him, but I reserve the right to hate people for no reason. We all have those people.
And so, that all being said, I'm sticking to it. frick that guy.

I used to think he was a douche.
Then I realized he is way better at guitar than I'll ever be , he has the respect of so many guitar legends, and the things he's considered a douche for are things most of us would do in his situation.

There is nothing more subjective and stupid than ranking guitar players.
Does anyone really believe that there is ANYTHING one top player can do with a guitar that another top player cannot do?
Like Eddie Van Halen is going to watch Derek Trucks do something and go "frick, I can't do that."
To me it comes down to creativity, song writing, success and "uniqueness"
You can find a teenager that can play every Clapton song exactly right, but he's just a trained monkey. The creativity is what sets the top ones apart.

John Mayer is one of the best guitarists alive. Very few people can hold their own with members of the Grateful Dead. He was one of them. And he crushes beautiful women. Stop being a hater.

^ This. Kind of like Keith Urban and Brad Paisley- I don't think a lot of people actually know they're badass guitarists. I'm not a huge fan of John Mayer, but I don't mind him at all.

My John Mayer story...a buddy of mines girlfriend(friend) told him the story of her hooking up with Mayer. Long story short he did a lot of Blow shite in himself and her during sex and then kicked her out of the hotel room afterwards. Like a boss!!
