The point I was making is some people feel invincible, and don't care if they expose others or themselves.
Louisiana can either be proactive and try to limit outbreaks and state-wide exposures with restrictions, or do nothing and be reactive after Louisiana is hard hit like Washington state, which by then it's to late.

quote:

There are at least 873 confirmed coronavirus cases and at least 48 deaths in Washington.

i believe all of this authoritarianism is an admission that this was the case a week ago and the government is just now realizing it

Your point was that the highly contagious, rapidly expanding virus would remain for years if we went about our business.

If we can’t go to the bar or the gym what’s the point of not catching corona?

No people would continue to travel, go to large public gatherings, etc. This would continue the transmission of the virus. Landry's Vineyard, in Calhoun La., is still going ahead with it's upcoming outdoor concert. People just are not taking this virus seriously. Louisiana is blessed that it isn't being hit hard right now, and we all should take precautions to keep it that way.

the thing is, we are. the issue is that it's primarily in Nola (and EBR to a much less extent)

spread will come from those 2 areas, but EVERYWHERE is being punished

Because people travel all over Louisiana. All those cars and drivers aren't staying in BR or NO. Unless the DOTD has shut down all the highways.
