No one in their right mind believes ole Joe is on Medicare. He has that rich man insurance. If your going to get someone to hock Medicare help at least make it look like they are actually using it.

This ends my totally fricking random thought of the night.

Unless he's paying out of pocket (unlikely; he's not that rich) or covered under some employer group plan (possible, but I'm betting not) he's on Medicare. Private individual insurance would be hideously expensive for someone his age, and again, he's not rich enough to be throwing money away like that.

The biggest tell is the fact that he's doing those cheesy commercials. He wouldn't be if he had money to burn.

If they were going to hock it, they would need to own it. Maybe they will take it down to see Big Hoss and he will call in a friend of his dad, who is an expert in this Medicare thing.

Or were you talking about hocking it, like a loogie?

Why wouldn’t he be using Medicare? I know for a fact that another former super bowl winning QB is using Medicare along with a supplement plan for their medical and prescription needs.

Most people have to be on Medicare once they hit 65 because of how the rules work. It's not a choice.

That said, I was very relieved to know Joe has now found transportation for when he needs to get to the doctor.

primary vs secondary coverage. Too many rules to discuss how it works here but just assume that the insurers will figure out a way to minimize what they pay out.

Most everyone gets on Medicare at 65. Your private insurance is then supplemental to it.

Medicaid is the program for the poor and some disabled. You have to be dirt poor to qualify.

Hawking is the word you should have used. Not hocking. Someone explained it above.
