How do the "servers" not get in the way of nearby movie goers?
Depends on the theater. At a dine-in drafthouse, you sit at a table that has ample lit aisles for servers to walk to and from. Those are a lot of fun, but appeal to the older demograph. At that Santikos joint they have a bar that is on both floors. Drinkers simply go to the bar, provide ID, buy drink, and go to their movie. Most drinkers tend to sit toward the back by the top rear exits, as it gets them easy access to refills without disturbing everyone else. And they have it double doored so no light or excessive noise enters when that person goes to/from.

The high-end theatre phenomenon with great food, pimp bars, bowling alleys, and the like has really exploded in Michigan the last 5-10 years. You have to go out to the bar and bring your drinks back into the theatre. I wondered how these places could pay off the investment, but it seems to be working well.

Specs is still forced to be closed on Sundays right??
Yes, but sorry we try to sober up and give the Lord his day while getting ready for a week of work haha When I go back to my parents in Houston, I get frustrated with the alcohol laws at times, after being in Louisiana for 6 years. But their laws are not terrible. You just have to plan a little more if you want hard liquor.
ETA: I wish Louisiana had Specs, but with hard liquor available every where, there is not enough market in Louisiana to bring them in. That place is the shite!!! They have everything in those places.

The ones I've been to, you can't place an order after like 15-20 mins into the movie. You can always get up and go out to the bar, if you need to, though.

Jesus that was hard to read.
The sale of alcohol at a theater increases the profits of the theater. It leads to nicer movie theaters.
I have never had a problem at Canal Place or Sundance in Houston. I have had a problem at the Rave and every theater in baton rouge.

I don't drink. People like me do exist, and there are plenty of us. They pretty much don't exist on this board, but we're out there.
I don't drink either like you. I have a drink probably about once a year. And I'm going to tell you that you're full of shite. Theaters should be allowed to sell alcohol to their customers if they so desire. Stop telling them what they cannot do with their labor and property if they're not hurting anyone, stealing anything or slandering/defrauding anyone.
You're nothing more than a nanny state authoritarian fascist. frick you.

I do not support alcohol sales in movie theaters. It is ridiculous.
Things I find more "ridiculous"
at the movie theater than alcohol sales:
- Bringing your crying baby to an R rated movie and not having the courtesy to take them out when they're wailing.
- Letting your kids run around the theater during the movie.
- People with their bright arse screens texting during the whole movie.
Time to outlaw babies and teenagers at the movies.

Anyone that has a problem with this is either a total POS or has never been to a theater like Canal Place.
I've been to CP probably 30 times since it reopened and have one bad experience: at Wolf of Wall Street, some Westbank trash was already hammered when the movie started.

Is there anyone here who does not support this bill??
Do people feel the need to drink for every dam thing we do in Louisiana?

Tough luck, it's happening. This is America.

I don't live in California, and I apologize, it looks like, in my celebration, I may have gotten a little freedom on you.
I can't wait to (legally) get drunk in a movie theater.
