Forgive my ignorance about wrestling, but is he the dad or related to Dale Jarret?

RIP, just a quick read seems like he was a good guy.

Jerry Jarrett was one hell of a promoter, given how long he drew so many fans to the coliseum in Memphis every Monday night.

Consider that meant having roughly the same folks buy tickets on a weekly basis for generations, and you realize what a feat this was.

Jarrett was one of the last promoters standing after the WWE expansion.

I bet Bruce Pritchard starts talking more shite about him after this. He was not thrilled to work with him in the mid-90s when it looked like Vince could go to jail.
