I seriously never knew how big of a drug problem there seems to be in Jennings, Welsh, Crowley and that whole area but mostly Jennings and Welsh.

jennings, at least used to be, a big depository for major drug dealers who use i10

So are we pretty sure that the True Detective show is inspired by these events?

i don't think they're related at all, to be honest. these aren't some weird occult killings or anything

Just watched the raw footage videos.

My earlier postulating was just dumb and I'd like it stricken from the OT record.

Frankie and Tracee know who did this. Frankie is a better convict than Tracee and tells a better lie than she does.

They live in an area with a population of 20K. They knew all of the dead girls, in some cases intimately. They were in some cases the last people seen with the girls.

Frankie seems to be the king of the crackheads. I'm betting he paid some junkie to do his dirty work on the girls for being snitches.

Not really, although NP does have an obvious interest in the case.

I haven't seen the show yet. Thought maybe NP was inspired by this since he apparently grew up in the region.

Another woman's dead body was found yesterday in Lake Arthur (10 miles from Jennings).

Authorities currently say this death is not related to the other murders, but I still think there should be reason to be skeptical.

Ever call that in to the tip line? If not, why?

Because I will not get involved. Plus this is definitely info that has been passed down. Read the article that was written it talks about the cop that is now dead bringing girls to his house with chains hanging from the ceiling. This stuff isn't new info.

Like 95% positive that it is unrelated. Most likely just drug related. But this will definitely turn the heat up on the Jennings 8 once again.

I did read that. I find it very hard to believe that if there were rumors about a sex dungeon in a cop's house that they weren't followed up on. Again, there are many agencies in on this task force. They're either all involved to the level of the federal government (so these girls must have had some pretty darn incriminating evidence. Maybe even started the Obama Birth Certificate investigation back in '05 when he was a lowly elected man in Chicago), or the rumor is just a rumor.

Camped out with my older brother and some of his friends back behind were the old high school was by the Bayou Nezpique boat launch and after it had gotten dark we saw a fire in the woods away from where we were and went to see. Their was a group of people wearing black robes. They had a dog nailed yo a tree and we're cutting it up and chanting some weird shite. We ran all the way back to my house on Florence st.

And I was just thinking, "Damn, all this thread needs is a satanic ritual story."

Wish. Granted.

Yeah he was a bad arse at RB. Pretty sure he was on the 93 state championship team. He had also won the top award at some very prestigious Kentucky basketball camp.

He just couldn't ever stay out of trouble
