And these are your Neo Confederate heroes.

Funny that they want us to see some more well rounded view of these men bent on destroying this Union , maintaining slavery & willing to see the slaughter of thousands in so doing.

These same people are perplexed & unsympathetic to the nuanced view of someone like Fidel Castro who is an Icon / hero in many parts of Latin America, Africa , Asia & even Europe,etc....

Yet these same people want others to understand their devotion to these regional slave mongers / traitors that are virtually unknown outside of the South.

I was in that neck of the woods yesterday, as a matter of fact. Charleston, Beaufort and St. Helena to enjoy some delicious gullah food.

A pic from the Beaufort waterfront.. didn't spot Forrest, Lt. Dan or Jenny anywhere, though.

You only started this thread because it is Confederate Memorial Day in SC. Just own it.

I see that you have taken well to your politically correct training. What other talking points can you vomit up for us?

Oh I bet the word usage on that sign triggers a lot of the white guilt bunch.

Like him or not, Davis had the lowest unemployment rate among blacks than any US President since.

I've also always thought he looked a lot like Lincoln, like they could have been brothers.

No. No I didn't.

It isn't my fault that this state made Confederate Memorial Day the same day as Jefferson Davis's capture.

But good for you for knowing South Carolina's state government holidays. Congratulations.

If the Confederates were cross-dressers we would be hearing about how brave they were.

Not phoney ones like Davis whose consciousness of guilt( treason) caused him to flee, in a dress, from the noose he assumed was awaiting him.

Not sure about that. I doubt he had some sort of moral awakening.

A reasonable assumption and likely reason for flight.

You're either a troll or stupid or both. I'm figuring both.

Using Wiki is your first mistake. Fake news did not originate with this election. LINK
Was Jefferson Davis Captured In A Dress?
A story that the Confederate president donned a petticoat to evade capture emerged right after Union cavalrymen apprehended him in Georgia at war’s end. But is it true?
James L. Swanson Fall 2010 Volume 60 Issue 3

exert:
"Before he left, Varina asked him to wear an unadorned raglan overcoat, also known as a “waterproof.” She hoped the raglan might camouflage his fine suit of clothes, which resembled a Confederate officer’s uniform. “Knowing he would be recognized,” Varina later explained, “I pleaded with him to let me throw over him a large waterproof which had often served him in sickness during the summer as a dressing gown, and which I hoped might so cover his person that in the grey of the morning he would not be recognized. As he strode off I threw over his head a little black shawl which was round my own shoulders, seeing that he could not find his hat and after he started sent the colored woman after him with a bucket for water, hoping he would pass unobserved.” "
