Jeff was persistent about trying it his way.. as for being married to Karen, Seems like that’d also make things awkward about JJ having anything to do with wwe anymore. Water’s under the bridge? I’d like to see JJ retire with wwe in some fashion-as unlikely as that seems. Wish him well

A guy like Jarrett could do the legends circuit, the autograph circuit in the old Memphis territory and live comfortably for the rest of his life.

Underrated wrestler, one of the top 10 heels ever.

WWE does pay rehab for any wrestler that was formerly under contract.. although I think they told Tammy Sytch they were going to stop paying for her rehab bills after her 8th stint.
Jarrett was an excellent worker in late 80s, early 90s Memphis though.

nah
sure he had wrestling ability, and could sell.
but fans nationwide didnt like him too much except for the regional areas in tennessee or kentucky.
he wasnt the drawing power or the main event guy like he thought he was. however he could get away with that in his dad's organization.
i do think he could have been a decent to good road agent/producer/booker.

A lot of the the issues they have are similar to other traveling professions like sports and performance artists.
The lifestyle leads to a lot of pain pills because there isn’t an off-season and lots of binge drinking and recreational drug use because of the odd hours and being in a new place almost every night.
And BTW a lot of the really bad drug use was with ECW, WCW, and TNA as they would take people like Sunny, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy unable to stay clean enough for the WWE’s tastes.

The steroid trials that damn near put McMahon in jail in the early 90s really changed the culture in the WWE...well, that along with the whole Chris Benoit going crazy and killing his family thing.
Yep. Basically as I've heard it told, when you're out there in front of a crowd at night you need something to bring you down so you can sleep afterwards. Which is usually booze and pills. Then because you're staying in a crappy motel and going to bed at 3AM or not going to sleep at all, you need something to get you up for the match. And then you need something to bring you down afterwards once again.
It just becomes a vicious cycle.

What does that have to do with Jeff Jarrett being in rehab 25 years later?

Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy are currently signed by the WWE..
