I'm assuming that there isn't even a plan in place for replacements. Is that right?
Mitch did say that he "wanted someone that would be recognized with modern New Orleans." That would seem to indicate this guy:

Get ready for MLK BLVD and Arthur Ash Square, and Harriett Tubman Circle. All attuned with horrible, rushed sculpture monuments.
You know Mitch and Miss Piggy will push for a Barrack Obama Parkway or statue. To hell with NOLA, murder capital of the world and not a "leader" there deals with that.

Martin Luther King has nothing to do with New Orleans. Are there any statues of him?

I'm for Longhair Square.
It's time the Professor got immortalized.

Or just a pile of body bags.

Dammit, sorry guys I fell asleep before I could get to the monument and make sure it remained in tact. Plus Uber to the JD Monument wasn't cheap last night.

I do not Jazzfest.

With the few teeth left gold.

So not only is streetcar, bus service, and local traffic fricked up because of this crap, but WDSU reported that the Entergy customer service location at the corner is closed due to this. They want people to go to the Algiers location. I'm sure people are gonna love that

They have Bienville in the Quarter.
It will almost assuredly be attacked also. Forget he was the founder of New Orleans, he massacred Indians and most assuredly owned slaves. Erase him from history.

Knowing that service location, the city will be pissing off the very people they expect to pander to with the statue removal.

Do Republicans even run for mayor of New Orleans?
Posted on 5/11/17 at 7:17 am to oldcharlie8
I'd be okay with a Fournette or Honey Badger statue
Posted on 5/11/17 at 7:17 am to oldcharlie8
Yep. They get the black votes but you need to stir them up to get them to the polls
