Subtle plant operator brag.

Get ready for MLK BLVD and Arthur Ash Square, and Harriett Tubman Circle. All attuned with horrible, rushed sculpture monuments.

Well, since the NOLA murder rate is back on track, this would be an obvious choice:

you don't pay orleans parish property taxes you don't complain about these statues, imo.

This, all day long.

If you're not a current resident of the OP, STFU and build whatever kind of monuments you want in Shreveport and Monroe....

Funny how that works.

Erect some statues in Denham Springs if it's so important to you.

You may have a point. I mean, where do we get off expressing views on a public forum. Where do we think that we live, America?

There are still lots of sales tax money that gets spent by non residents in Orleans parish. Property taxes aren't the only way the city raises budget money.

I'm waiting for the hero to build his own Confederate statues in his front yard.

Where is the vote showing what the citizens of New Olreans wanted in this matter?

That's about to start tanking. I'm sure not spending money there any more.

Says the guy cheering on the removal of New Orleans' layers of history, such that, before you know it, it will be as much faceless bland anywhere as a place like Livingston Parish.

Let's see what the wards have to say about a statue of a man who viewed their race as "inferior".

What do you think the results of that survey will be?

I don't think people would care close to as much if there was an actual vote of the populace rather than a lame duck, politically neutered mayor doing it to pander in a last-ditch effort to salvage his future in politics.

They didn't know who the hell that statue was or even gave 2 shits about it before the race baiting dickhead opened his mouth two years ago.

What did these guys do for New Orleans?

I'm for replacing them with actual historical figures of New Orleans.

The first being Jean Lafitte, a true hero of New Orleans.

Even Dominique You deserves a statue in NOLA more than any confederate.

This.

What is happening is just horrible. I'm sorry, New Orleans.

I'm assuming that there isn't even a plan in place for replacements. Is that right?

You know, I never liked Mitch because he is liberal, but I sure thought he loved New Orleans and its rich history. But now I realize I was wrong about that.

Just plant fricking trees. We can't afford replacement monuments.

This is all so stupid. It's just disgusting that he gets away with it. The murder and crime is despicable. The roads and bridges are in disrepair. So many bigger issues but look at the time, effort, energy, and resources that were put into this crap. Just gross.
