I 100% agree with you that these are atrocious, but These are guidelines, not laws or executive orders.

What governors are doing is the really atrocious part

Deaths are a lagging indicator

We don’t know yet how many people will get sick from Labor Day parties, we only have a limited # of vents & there are hospitals (15 at last count) with no ICU beds

We cannot overwhelm the hospitals, especially with the hurricane that just came through

What we really need is double the normal amount of federal dollars to help fight the pandemic & rebuild from the hurricane

Sarcasm

I was getting angrier and angrier reading this post until I got to the last line.

The Republican Presidents guidelines are strict as shite and allow governors the backing to lock business down

Funny how that works. When the WH has things that we don't fall in line with, the Governor uses them as a crutch. We he sees an opportunity to buck the WH, he does.

It's almost like politicians are using their constituents as pawns in a political chess game...

You realize JBE has actually opened up MORE than the whitehosue guidelines, right?

He might install parts of phase 3. Allowing people into hospitals and old folks homes with masks and maybe some variation of restaurant use

Otherwise, he’s waiting until at least sept 20th

I don’t care what party an official is in. I dislike all the lockdowns, restrictions, and paths that our country has gone down. Again, the guidelines are simply that, broad guidelines. Executives of each state have the final say, and ours and TX have put significant restrictions when they weren’t needed.

While I understand what you are saying, it is hard to say Fauci is “his people.” We know that he isn’t. And Trump couldn’t really fire him in this environment and write the guidelines himself.

Of all the things to open up, nursing homes and retirement communities should be the last. It’s literally close quartered high density high at risk population.

Trump's biggest f up as president. He has no legs to stand on when he accuses governors of being too strict of lockdowns. He lead the freaking charge.
