But don't worry, when he gets elected governor he will do absolutely nothing to repeal those powers

Yep.

I’d venture to say 80% of the population wants to limit terms, eliminating loopholes for healthcare, lifetime salaries, etc. for legislators. But they are the ones that make those decisions. I can’t be bothered with this shite except for an occasional rant. If I think on it too long I get crazy.

The populous simply drags themselves down further…continuously.

It is absolutely hilarious and sad.

It is. It is painful to see how most of the residents don't even notice the level they are at. Attack each other without realizing they are just a different level of shite.

I didn't check your post history, but it is 2022. You seem to have been asleep the last 2 years.

Republicans were given a blueprint on how to challenge and overcome the executive orders of JBE. They did nothing.

Yikes so you're saying representatives like Kathy Edmonston(my rep) could have done something to stop his never ending mask mandates?

I'm not voting for her next time if that's true.

This.

Everyone gave up their “rights” two years ago when they freaked out and lost their minds over Covid.

Sorry, bub, you shouldn’t have done that.

It is your fault you are in this mess.

I'm not sure we gave up our rights then, we just realized how much we had really given away.

I would say that everyone saw what they already had lost, looked to daddy government, and demanded that they take even more.

Some even thought things would go back to normal eventually, too.

Back to the topic at hand.

Nothing will happen to JBE.

You can look at that and think she’d have actually done something?

That, my friend, is a Bull Karen.

Agreed. The AG certainly isn't the one that will take him down.

So yeah, our next governor will be the guy who couldn't outsmart JBE.

I listened to a podcast today about the Tuskegee Study Whistleblower. I learned today that the CDC is EVIL and I wish I hadn't gotten the vax AFTER already having the COVID AIDS.

For the second consecutive legislative session, lawmakers passed legislation that would reduce the governor’s power during emergencies, and for the second consecutive legislative session, Edwards vetoed it. During this year’s session, Rep. Larry Frieman (R-Abita Springs) introduced House Bill 149 which gives the Legislature to repeal a governor’s declaration of a state of disaster or emergency — or parts of it — at any time.

Once he vetoed it the legislature had the chance to over ride the veto with a majority vote

Three Republican senators and all the Democrats ended up voting against overturning the governor’s veto.

Johns, a Lake Charles Republican, wants to be the head of Louisiana’s Gaming Control Board, which oversees the state’s gambling industry. But Johns was in a tough position with the veto override session.

quote:

In the end, Johns decided to sit out the veto override session altogether. He had surgery earlier this month and said he was not be able to come to Baton Rouge to vote because he was still recovering from the operation. Since he was absent, he was able to avoid offending anybody.

I don’t think it was a week later when he gave Johns the appointment

he issued an Emergency Order, which the governor says trumps the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

That's not how things work. State law can never supersede the us constitution. Between JBE and the St Tammany Parish President who claims he can seize private property, this pandemic has really shown who is power hungry.

That right there, if true, requires immediate removal from office. No impeachment, straight removal. That’s not dangerous talk, that’s dictator despotic talk. Nothings trumps the Bill of Rights. Nothing. No emergency is above any rights. frick him for believing my right to freedom of religion comes from him. It comes from God. Devine Providence. And damn the LA GOP for doing nothing. They are just a responsible for trampling those rights.

You bought into some sour grapes from Woody Jenkins. There was nothing stopping his church or any other church from having virtual services.
