Which means they are holding more people for 'observation' than they were 3 days ago, or 2 weeks ago.

This could make sense since now we know more about the virus & treatment
It’s a convenient way to recoup lost money without overwhelming resources with the feds paying
I have no clues, just a guess

If it isn't then that is a sign of increased hospitalizations.

And? If that is the case (and as I said, I don't know if that is true or not), that doesn't mean much. Watching someone and actively treating someone who has a severe case are not the same thing.

An increase in hospitalizations is not good regardless, especially for the sake of our Healthcare workers, but I personally don't see how that is more significant than deaths.

If deaths start skyrocketing again, we have a serious problem. Increasing hospitalizations strains the system, but if the majority of those people recover, the increase doesn't mean much in the long run.

I would be interested to see the total hospitalizations between March 9 and June 9 versus deaths of those who were hospitalized.

JBE had made the remark Wednesday that the cases being seen did not seem as severe as the previous wave. So there is that chance.

He seems to be listening to the hospital execs about their capacity and making decisions on that. If they ate trying to pad their balance sheet I wouldn't think they will be asking for more restrictions.

Bar restrictions and a mask mandate per WBRZ

The governor is expected to announce service restrictions at bars and a mask mandate, sources who spoke with both WBRZ and The Advocate said late Friday and Saturday.

That brings it back to the original problem of overwhelmed hospitals causing deaths due to lack of resources. Which is the problem to avoid.

So does statewide mask mandate now mean all students in schools will be required to wear one?

So we have to wear a mask in a restaurant and then when the food comes we get to take it off?

Just when you enter and walk to your table. Once you sit down, you are free to take it off.

It's the stupidest thing in the world.

Some private schools in EBR has already stated school is on with staffing and kids wearing masks.
