Don't disagree with your first two points. As to:

quote:

but if there is real federal guidance on a national level, how can Arkansas never close and TX re-open? they have the same national guidance that we would have. that's why, at that point if we don't re-open, it's just a talking point and not reality

Even Trump in his pressers has hinted that openings may look different for areas hit harder, and Louisiana has been included with those states. We shall see.

Respectfully, you and JBE can quit worrying about the needs of Louisianans.

So by your claim they received the same guidance and did 2 different things.

the federal guidance during this crisis has always deferred to state action. i think Trump literally spelled that out finally Monday or Tuesday

this includes acquiring vents/PPE, ensuring hospitals are ready to handle acute areas, closures, etc. hence why no 2 states have the exact same policy

quote:

Kinda like if Texas opens in May and we don't?

yeah that's going to happen and the whole "Trump is telling me to do x" talking point goes away

and our population is going to look at our neighboring states and ask why we aren't open

Um no it wasn't. He literally said it in his presser and some of his biggest supporters are crushing him for it.

I’d pay to watch as long as they used old flint lock, muzzle loaded pistols. Andre Jackson era

he governor said his administration will rely heavily on the federal government’s guidance on the next steps after the stay-at-home order. The state has largely followed the guidelines offered by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control thus far, instituting several waves of restrictions based on CDC guidance.

So I hope that he takes Trump to heart when he says to REOPEN ... keep areas closed if needed but reopen what can be opened!

If caring about us crosses over into dictating how we live and work and socialize, all for our own good a d against our wishes, wouldn't you say thats going overboard?

Regardless of what you would say, it's not what people want, it's not what our representative form of government is about, and it's unsustainable.

Oh you mean the vents and ppe that the feds are hoarding and only giving to states that have governors that say nice things about Trump?

hence why no 2 states have the exact same policy

Hence why you can't compare us to our neighbors. Thanks form making my point for me.

what?

there is a national reserve and they are distributing some as the data demands

at this point i don't know if any of the federal stockpile is necessary b/c the hit wasn't as hard as projected

quote:

Hence why you can't compare us to our neighbors.

then it's not a federal policy and JBE's talking point evaporates

Which is understandable.

But to keep the entire state under an order for who knows how long just because NOLA had an outbreak 3 weeks ago is not prudent.

I’ll bet that Cuomo leaves Elmira alone and keeps NYC metro on stay at home orders.

Not when you doing whatever you want puts others at risk.

Oh so you are to decide what people want now. Cool when were you elected to speak for everyone again?

Don't think you've been watching Trump pressers. The context of Trump's comment was that some states would open differently because they need to, even with Trump's total control. The actions of Louisiana in response has been following guidance of Feds, plain and simple.
