A man is dead and another is injured following a shooting that occurred in the 3800 block of Canal Street in Mid-City, according to the NOPD. The injured victim, a woman, has been transported to a local hospital, according to NOPD. Police say she is now listed in stable condition. The shooting appears to have happened outside of the popular Mandina’s restaurant, which police say was open for business at the time of the shooting.

will JBE ever admit that New Orleans is a failed state, and send in the LA National Guard to assist?

What an abject failure this guy is. It's freakin Jazz Fest!

NOLA is officially a 3rd world country. Countless visits to Mandina's and never felt unsafe.

Yeah, that's on a random internet message board an hour after the actual crime.

If you read the reddits, the word is:

Waiter may have been the target
One killed out front
One patron shot
Sounds like assault rifle fire (assume the gun had a switch)
Security returned fire

When you hire certain people in New Orleans, whether they are decent people or not, you open yourself up to every possible bad scenario they bring with them. I don't know the percentage of dishwashers and waiters in New Orleans who are dragging baggage around with them, but it's pretty high and their baggage is a lot more violent than the typical service industry baggage. It's why middle to upper middle class African Americans have been leaving New Orleans in droves for 25 years. They can have good kids who get caught up in violent bs by association and relations. It's better to just get them the hell out of here. It has left a major hole in the black community down here.
