Organizers got their $$$ so STFU. Mud pit as usual. Hot as a MutherF'er as usual.

One day they will come to their senses and move this event up about a month as in last week of March and first week of April, or even Feb/Mar. It's just shitty weather late April/early May. May as well be Bayou Country Fest outdoors in July/August...

Those days would coincide with the Lent/Easter calendar and Mardi Gras.

They can't. The track runs through the last weekend in march. It would take longer than a week to set up. They already crowd the backside with jazz fest setup stuff weeks early and the biggest weekend of racing at the track is the last which is a derby prep.

That can't be moved because it needs to be a certain distance from the derby.

As for having it in February:

Track runs 4-5 days a week (depending on schedule) from November through the last week in march.

Unless they move it to City Park. If you are going to change the dates go all out and change the venue as well. More area in City Park so the overcrowding issues gets lessened as well.

There's no drainage there so when it rains it'll be 10x worse than the Fairgrounds

I'd be interested to see how they would lay it out at the Festival Grounds though

Jazz Fest sucks, pretty much for the poors that can't afford to go see real concerts.

I don't live in Ville Platte but there are wealthy people there
It's just not a great venue, I've been there I much rather go to a normal concert.
