James Woods reported a dry run by the terrorist a month before 9/11

James Woods — who's best known for playing bad guys in films like Final Fantasy and Ghosts of Mississippi — is now playing a good citizen by tipping off the FBI about his encounter with four suspicious airline passengers a month before last Tuesday's attacks on America, Reuters reports
On a flight from Boston to Los Angeles about a month ago, Woods observed four men of apparent Middle Eastern origin acting so oddly that he reported them to the flight attendants and authorities on the ground when he landed.
The Oscar-nominated actor told the FBI last week that he was alone in first class with the four men and noticed during the entire cross-country flight that none of them had anything to eat or drink, nor did they read, sleep, or appear to make themselves comfortable. They sat erect in their seats and stared straight ahead, saying nothing to flight attendants and speaking to each other only in inaudible tones.
Woods, who was flying back to Los Angeles after visiting his mother in Boston, said via his publicist that he was extremely unsettled by their behavior.
The flight now appears to have been a dry run for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, in which hijackers seized and crashed four commercial planes, including one flying the same Boston-to-Los Angeles route. The day after the terrorists crashed the planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in western Pennsylvania, Woods called the FBI to report his eerie experience. Federal agents visited him at his home the following day, on Thursday, to interview him in detail, according to Reuters.

Whether the four airline passengers reported by Woods were in fact determined to have been connected to the 9/11 attacks is something that, as far as we know, the FBI has not disclosed. But Woods himself said that he identified two of the men he saw as hijackers who took part in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and that he “unofficially” heard through other sources that all four men he observed were indeed involved with the airline hijackings on 11 September 2001:
Always found this interesting and you have to believe that now days this claim would be taken more serious than it was at that time.

I've always found this fascinating.

Damn, I’ve never heard that before. Wow.

It’d probably be dismissed because James Woods is a racist conservative.

According to the article,he reported it the day after 9/11.
Doesn’t help much after the fact.
Your title makes it seem like he reported it a month before 9/11 and the FBI ignored it.

If he reported that as suspicious activity today he would be banned from flying for discrimination

The FBI didn't get involved until after 9/11 but he did report it prior to authorities.

Wouldn't it be easy to go back and look at the flight manifest for that particular flight to see if Woods was on it...? and said terrorist..?
Do those logs go back 17 years..?

Guess reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

Seems pretty straightforward.

In today's world, he'd be labeled a racist for insinuating that they were suspicious.

Time Magazine, I think it was Time, did an article several years before the attacks that gave a very detailed prediction of how this could be possible and how it could be achieved, if I weren't so lazy I'd try it find it , and it's been a long time, but again. it was pretty detailed , and iirc, pretty much the way it played out

I edited because I see what you are saying but he reported it none the less.

He called the FAA the month before and reported it to the airline. He called the FBI immediately after the attacks to advise of his previous reports. They were at his house at 600 am the next morning to interview him. He picked 3-4 of them out from photo line ups. I think they ultimately confirmed 4 were in his flight.

He reported it to the airline at the least. It never identifies authorities but could have also been county.
FBI was after the attack still useful as it helps develop a timeline and procedure of the attack.

I'm sure the FBI receives these tips pretty regularly. It would be difficult to identify the legititmate threats given the bogus reports outnumber them 100:1
