Our options were not really options at all. We did what we had to do.

They are moving to fast in trying to invert the historical notion of morality and integrity - they are on full speed toward establishing an iron-handed tyranny with a docile, ignorant, disillusioned, unconscious, amoral population.

I think they are in a hurry because they know they will not live long enough to enjoy the benefits of their new-found power - they are not patient for 'the long march' like their commie predecessors. They want it NOW.

It is going to take a miracle to thwart them. They hold all the cards - now that they control the ballot generation, distribution, collection, counting, and reporting process, nothing short of a unified physical battle to the death has a chance to stop them. This might be out last chance to unseat this, but I am very pessimistic.

They rapidity with which all the massive changes are being shoved down out throats - LGBTQWERTY, transwhatever, mocking of moral standards, desecration of national treasure, prolific spending on irrational bullshite to establish massive public debt, invitation for the millions of ignorant-to-our-culture migrants to spread across the nation who are beholden to THEM for their good fortune, makes me think they are going to give us the middle finger in November and dare us to event think about doing something about it.

They've already pussified the military to the extent that I cannot even rely on it to not stand up to an American popular resistance to what is coming.

It’s amazing how many people in this thread just want what OP posted to be true and never read the article.

If there is factual reporting of civilian casualties as a historical event, fine. If the reporting is only to make America look bad, screw them.

There was one article that I read that was trying hard to spread out the DEI by attributing the weather forecast to some Irish lady that worked as a postal clerk.

Everything i have read about wwii bombing really highlighted its inaccuracy. I believe it to be factually very accurate that bombing over Normandy was ineffective and poorly placed, frequently falling on allied soldiers and civilians. Really, a lot about the Normandy invasion didn’t go well, and it’s a testament to the perseverance of the troops that they turned the corner in the war.

Because reporters are just dipshits who have never accomplished anything in life.

The bar is uber low to be a reporter today.

There are at least 4 articles on NBC about D-Day and you get your panties in a wad about this one LINK

The guy is flying the American flag and talks about how thankful he is. The article tells a story about what a ton of people endured to win the war and "it's flipping the narrative". Every person they interview says it was necessary but yet you it to fit your narrative.

“And yet, far from feeling animosity for the country that led the destruction of his town, today Fauvel is flying an American flag from his car.

“Do I blame the Americans? No, because without them I’d be dead,” the 86-year-old told NBC News on Tuesday, outside the bunker where his family spent two days sheltering from the aerial barrage.”

“They had to do it, it was the only solution,” he said of the relentless bombardment. “Some of us were sacrificed, but American soldiers sacrificed themselves and we haven’t forgotten that.”

“Like in countless places across Normandy, American forces did eventually liberate Fauvel’s hometown of Saint-Lô — but first they obliterated it.

“In total, around 20,000 French civilians died in the monthslong Battle of Normandy, codenamed Operation Overlord, most of them killed by the planes, artillery and small-arms fire of the invading Allies.”

“This is a place where, in June, American flags are as common as French ones, and streets bear names such as “Rue Eisenhower” and “Rue 505E Airborne.”

So are the people of Normandy in step with Macron’s desire to promote the memory of loss?

“Non,” was the blunt response of Jean-Max Getmamm, a retired history professor and president of Demain de Gaulle, an association promoting the ideals of the former general and French president.

“I think about this question all the time,” he said. “But in reality we do not blame the Americans.”

“Perhaps the story that best encapsulates the tension between liberation and destruction is that of Maj. Thomas Howie, battalion commander in the U.S. 29th Infantry Division.

Howie led the force that finally liberated Saint-Lô six weeks after D-Day, and wrought more destruction in the process — including felling the bell tower of its gothic St. Croix Cathedral whose foundations date to 1202. When Howie was killed by mortar shrapnel during the attack, his soldiers took his body to that cathedral, laying it in the rubble and draping it in an American flag.

Today, a plaque at the site bears the name of the man widely known as “the Major of Saint-Lô.”

An 86 year old man shares his memories as a 6 year old. He and other locals do not seem to share any sentiment to diminish the sacred memory of American sacrifices on D Day.

In every war civilians suffer the most. Nothing wrong about sharing their memories and ignoring any alternative narrative we know is false.

You read that article and pulled DEI out of it? It was a cool story about a woman who learned that she played a small role helping with the weather forecast. Sounds pretty factual that the reports from her station were pretty important in forming the forecast.
