I went years without getting a new inspection sticker then got 2 tickets in 2 days. It's all about avoiding being caught or being around cops that don't care (NOPD). My two tickets were in NORCO and on the causeway

They look for expired stickers.
No sticker gets a pass.
Also, just tape a QC code or some weird shite they are not looking for and they will assume you are out of state.

I bought my car in 2013. I have never gotten an inspection sticker. I forgot at first. Now I just want to see how long I can go. This will probably jinx me.

Wait did you have to pay both? Couldn't you have told the cop you already got a ticket for it the day before and just didn't have time to get the sticker yet?

Inspection stickers have always pissed me off. It's a money grab and only 17 states have them. If it were about public safety, they would be required under parameters.

If it were about public safety, they would impoud cars that fail the test becausd they "shouldn't be on the road"
The fact that they give a ticket (aka just more revenue) and leave this "dangerous" car on the road is all the proof you need it's not about "safety"

Wife got stopped for no inspection sticker. Cop said I hope you have an out of state plate. Thankfully, car had not yet been registered in Louisiana.

Don't know if it's true or not, but a service guy at my dealership said you're better off with no sticker than an expired sticker. However, most officers can just dial up your plate and see if you're registered locally.

Usually they use that as an excuse to pull someone over so they can give you shite and make sure you're not drinking.
I'd assume they probably don't look as close at newer vehicles, either.
I had a TX inspection sticker until yesterday, and those things are way better than the shitty LA ones.
