If you are in the South, go to MD Anderson for a second opinion about treatment options. I have had several family members get better treatment options at MD Anderson after their oncologists in South Louisiana screwed up big time. Also, the amount of clinical trial options at MD Anderson is huge. If you are in the North, check out Sloan Kettering. I really can't stress enough how important it is to check out one of these two places.

I am not a religious man, so I can not offer prayers. However, I am a cancer research scientist (at MD Anderson), and I have seen the amazing successes that can occur with the combination of cutting-edge science and expert medical staff. So, what I can offer is my point-of-view, and that is to make sure you get as many opinions from the best hospitals in the field, and I wish the best for you and your family.

Hate reading that diagnosis , especially with a young family. I hope you attend those cancer survivor functions for many years to come.

It's amazing the variety of people you can meet on TD.

Best of luck to you man. I've seen some family members and some friends fight cancer tooth and nail and come out on top. I had a friend that beat leukemia. Anything is possible.

Stay strong!

Serious question, not trolling. But what is it like to face your own mortality? I can't imagine what that must feel like.

shite, man...good luck with all of that. Just try to stay positive and like someone said earlier, fight it with all that you have (which I'm sure you will). The human body is capable of some crucial shite when it needs to be.

I'll be thinking about you and throwing some prayers your way for sure.

Give it hell man and never give up! Prayers for you and the family. Oh and as previously stated, go to MD Anderson! That place saved my mother in law after her local medical center said her condition was too far gone.

Stay strong brother, I will pray for you. The power of prayer is strong, cherish the moments you have with the ones you love. Lord knows I wish I would of done this before I lost some very important people in my life. God bless.

One of my cousins was diagnosed with this back in the fall. He had surgery and is going through chemo. He's zapped of energy from the treatments but he has a good prognosis. Best of luck and prayers sent.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Don't assume anything. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2006 and my oncologist told me I had less than a 50/50 chance of five year survival.

Going on 8 years now my last CT scan in January detected no cancer. Never give up.

A lot of good advice here.

My advice, being a living survivor of 2 bouts with stage IV Lymphoma, is to dig in....hard. I don't know what will work for you, but I viewed my sickness as a speed bump. More of an aggravation and nuisance than anything. Certainly not a death sentence. As a 43 year old father of 4, my attitude from the onset was "not now and definitely not like this." I was determined to win and be an inspiration to all I knew. I believe without any doubt that ones will and attitude plays a great deal in how their body responds to treatment.

Immediately dis-avow any negative thoughts that enter your mind. Trust me, there will be days when they seem to come to often. Push them aside and tell yourself, "no, not happening." I believe in you. You will win. Question is, do you believe?

If he doesn't want to answer, please allow me.

I am a man of faith. Strong faith. I actually didn't care for me. I truly believe that I what lay ahead for me in another realm will far exceed this one. Don't get me wrong, I love this place and have seen some unbelievably wonderful things, people and places here. But I had a peace about me that if I did die of the cancer, I had a better place ahead. No fear. There is an undescribable calmness your soul can achieve without the obstacle of fear.

The only sadness I had was the thought of my loved ones grief. Never any for myself.
